FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is ESTA?+
ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is a US Customs and Border Protection program that allows citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries to enter the United States for tourism, business or transit for stays of up to 90 days without a traditional visa.
What is the difference between an ESTA and a US visa?+
An ESTA is an electronic travel authorisation for short visits (up to 90 days) under the Visa Waiver Program — it is not a visa. A US visa is issued at a US embassy after an interview and is used for longer stays, work, study, or by citizens of countries not in the VWP. Both let you travel to a US port of entry; admission is decided by CBP at the border.
Who is eligible to apply for an ESTA?+
You can apply if you hold a valid passport from one of the 42 Visa Waiver Program countries, the passport is electronic with a biometric chip (e-passport), your trip is 90 days or fewer for tourism, business or transit, and you can answer "no" to the ten eligibility questions on the application.
When should I submit my application?+
As soon as your travel plans are firm, and at least 72 hours before your flight or border crossing — that is the official CBP guidance. Most decisions arrive within hours, but CBP allows up to 72 hours to process. An approved ESTA stays valid for two years and covers multiple trips.
How long does processing take?+
We review and submit most applications within hours of payment. CBP typically returns a decision within 24 to 72 hours — most arrive in the first few hours. CBP recommends applying at least 72 hours before travel.
How long is an ESTA valid?+
Once approved, an ESTA is generally valid for two years from the date of approval, or until the passport expires — whichever comes first. You can use it for multiple visits during that period.
What if I made a mistake on my application?+
After submission you can update your address in the US, email, phone number, and answers about your travel plans. Anything tied to identity — name, date of birth, gender, passport number, country of citizenship — cannot be changed. To fix those you would need to start a new application and pay the official US government fee again.
Does each traveller need their own ESTA, including children?+
Yes. Every traveller, regardless of age, must have an individual approved ESTA, and the official US government fee applies to each one. Infants and children are not exempt — book one ESTA per person.
Does an approved ESTA guarantee entry to the United States?+
No. An approved ESTA only authorises you to travel to a US port of entry. The final decision on whether to admit you is made by a Customs and Border Protection officer when you arrive. They can refuse entry even with a valid ESTA, so bring proof of return travel and the same passport you used in your application.
What if my application is denied?+
If your application is not approved, we fully refund our service fee. The $40.27 official US government fee is non-refundable. If you still wish to travel to the US after a denial, you may apply for a regular B1 / B2 visa at a US embassy instead.
Why use your service instead of applying directly?+
You can apply directly on the official site for the government fee only. Our service adds an expert review (which catches the most common errors that lead to denials), multilingual support, and a money-back guarantee on our fee.
Is my personal data safe?+
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. We comply with GDPR and only retain personal data for the period required to process and support your application.
